Questions creators ask us

Does Sponsir read my email?

Only on your screen. It runs as a browser extension on the Gmail tab you already have open and analyses the message you are looking at, locally. There is no server, no Gmail API access and no OAuth “read all your mail” permission to grant. Nothing is uploaded.

How is this different from Gmail’s own spam filter?

Gmail catches known bad senders. Sponsorship scams use freshly registered lookalike domains and clean-looking archives, so most land in the inbox. Sponsir understands the context — that an email claiming to be NordVPN isn’t from a NordVPN domain, or that a “brief” shouldn’t be a password-protected ZIP.

Will it work with a Google Workspace / custom-domain address?

Yes. Workspace uses the same Gmail interface, so Sponsir works on you@yourbrand.com exactly as on @gmail.com.

What about Instagram or TikTok DMs?

Not at launch. Paste any DM into the free Pitch Checker and you get the same analysis. In-app DM support is on the roadmap.

Can a real brand be flagged by mistake?

Yes — that’s why the badge says Unverified rather than Scam unless the signals are unambiguous (lookalike domain plus a malware-style attachment, for example). You can mark a sender as trusted; that choice stays on your device.

Which browsers?

Chrome and Edge at launch (any Chromium browser that can install from the Chrome Web Store). Firefox is planned.
